The Kenton Ridge Cougars suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 67-37 loss at the hands of Bellefontaine. Kenton Ridge has struggled against Bellefontaine recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kenton Ridge had strong showings from Alaina Mcfadden, who scored ten points, and Summer Swords, who scored four points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Payton Runkle, who scored six points along with two steals.
Lexi Robinson was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds for Bellefontaine. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Boop, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Kenton Ridge bumped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Bellefontaine, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenton Ridge will take on Urbana at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Urbana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kenton Ridge in Ohio (Urbana is ranked 154th, while Kenton Ridge is ranked 705th). As for Bellefontaine, they will be playing at home against Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
