Basketball Game Preview: Titusville Terriers vs. Edgewood Red Wolves

Titusville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Edgewood is on a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Titusville Terriers will host the Edgewood Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Titusville was fully in charge, breezing past Astronaut 54-9. While fans of the Terriers might be used to big wins, the 45-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Kennedie Sanders and Jamaria Stephens were among the main playmakers for Titusville as the former went 12 of 29 on her way to 25 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. With that strong performance, Stephens is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Braniyah Brown, who posted five points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Edgewood took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 65-29 win over West Shore. Given the Red Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Wildcats are ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Titusville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points per game. As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
