The Davis Darts came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Fremont. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Davis also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Davis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tradon Bessinger, who scored 11 points. Bessinger continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ike Morgan, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Fremont still got an impressive performance from Ashton Furgeson, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Hunter Hansen, who scored 13 points.
Davis is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Fremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
Davis will head out on the road to square off against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Layton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 19 matchups -- so hopefully the Darts like a good challenge. As for Fremont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Farmington is ranked 18th, while the Silverwolves are ranked 32nd).
