If the Sulphur Bulldogs were feeling good off their 50-26 takedown of the Elk City Elks last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sulphur had to suffer through a rough 63-33 loss at the hands of Madill. While losing is never fun, Sulphur can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Madill is ranked tenth).
It was another big night for Ethan Wilkerson, who scored 36 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Madill. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilkerson has scored at least a third of Madill's points. Another player making a difference was Brylan James, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Sulphur has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Madill, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Sulphur will head out on the road to take on Plainview at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madill, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lone Grove at 8:00 p.m.
