It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perkins Pirates had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 38-21 victory over West Holmes. Perkins' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perkins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Bunts, who rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Lesch, who threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes.
Perkins has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 11-2 Edison and 10-2 Rocky River (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58% over those games). As for West Holmes, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Perkins has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Glenville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Perkins likes a good challenge. West Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
