Shea extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 4-4. They lost 10-4 to the Cranston East Thunderbolts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbolts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 last Friday.

Taylor Kane was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Gianna Quinones was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
As for Cranston East, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Cranston East, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Shea, Cranston East also got a great game from a two-way player: Lexi Montalban. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Montalban was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aniah Parker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cydnee Meekins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Shea is set to square off against their familiar foe Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cranston East will face off against rival Mt. Pleasant at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
