The St. Charles Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the St. Patrick Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Thursday, St. Charles came up short against Merrill and fell 14-6.
Meanwhile, St. Patrick had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Byron on the road to the tune of 48-6. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.
St. Patrick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Leonard led the charge by throwing for 32 yards and two touchdowns on only three passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Brayden Simon was another key contributor, gaining 77 total yards and a touchdown.
St. Patrick's victory bumped their season record to 7-1 while St. Charles' loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
