Bucktail is 1-9 against South Williamsport since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bucktail Bucks will head out on the road to face off against the South Williamsport Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. South Williamsport took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Bucktail, who comes in off a win.
Even though Bucktail has not done well against Sullivan County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bucktail snuck past Sullivan County with a 58-54 victory. The victory was just what Bucktail needed coming off of a 69-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, South Williamsport came up short against Midd-West on Saturday and fell 65-52.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Neidig, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Radley Knapp was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with nine rebounds.
The win got Bucktail back to even at 1-1. As for South Williamsport, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Bucktail was taken down by South Williamsport 73-43 when the teams last played back in February. Can Bucktail avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
