Tesoro extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-9. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Capistrano Valley Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Iris Finlayson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Reese Fraser made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Ellie Buffington was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Capistrano Valley, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games.
On Capistrano Valley's side, Cassidy Stinnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shayne Delprato, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Camille Titus, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Coming up, Tesoro will welcome Aliso Niguel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Capistrano Valley, they will square off against Beckman at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.08 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
