The Lake Ridge Academy Royals suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 41-13 loss at the hands of Open Door Christian. Lake Ridge Academy has not had much luck with Open Door Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kathryn Krueger was Lake Ridge Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Zaya Battur held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Lake Ridge Academy bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.7 points per game. As for Open Door Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Ridge Academy will take on Harding at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Harding comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Open Door Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Horizon Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
