It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the William Floyd Colonials had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 49-13 victory over Longwood. Considering William Floyd has won six games by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
William Floyd got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jason Pratt out in front who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Pratt hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Aj Cannet, who threw for 183 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes.
The victory was the fourth in a row for William Floyd, bringing their record for this year to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Longwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
William Floyd will face off against Sachem North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Sachem North is ranked 77th, while William Floyd is ranked 53rd). Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
