Darek Bullock-Mills and Ra'Quon Glenn provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Portage Central. The connection was good for 87 yards, the longest such play in Southwestern Michigan - West this season.
St. Joseph extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Kalamazoo Central, 20-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Bears.
Glenn had a great week catching the football as Niles lost to the Mustangs. He caught 17 passes for 346 yards.
Bullock-Mills threw for 466 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 26-38 with 4 interceptions.
Bullock-Mills put up the best numbers through the air as the Vikings lost to Portage Central. Bullock-Mills' favorite target this week was Glenn, who caught 17 passes for 346 yards.
Niles' Bullock-Mills and Glenn led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bullock-Mills has thrown for 685 yards this season, while Glenn has 43 catches for 708 yards. Kyle Hedden from Mattawan leads the league in rushing with 586 yards.
One of Southwestern Michigan - West's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Antwon Jones' team and the Wildcats face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Brett Foerster's team takes on the Maroon Giants. The Mustangs are in second place, while Kalamazoo Central is in fifth place.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Vikings and Mattawan face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Niles comes in having scored 156 this season, while Matt Stephens' team has scored 135. The Vikings scored 26 points last week as they lost to Portage Central.
