Leon put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Hearne Eagles, posting a 41-0 victory. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 32-21 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Leon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Parker Thomas out in front who rushed for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Cooper Stevens, who gained 79 total yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 276 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in six consecutive games.
Leon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cullen Vestal and Wyatt Moore.
