Bellevue West is a perfect 3-0 against Lincoln Southwest since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Thunderbirds will venture away from home to face off against the Silver Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Bellevue West is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing South Sioux City: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Thunderbirds blew the Cardinals out of the water with a 65-0 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Thunderbirds had established a 58-point advantage.

Will Anderson had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 238 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 13-for-13 passing. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 19 passing touchdowns on the season. Bellevue West also got help from Jermaine Green, who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Bellevue West, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Adrian Wilson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Bellevue West's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Vincent Garza, Dontel McNeil, and Kairi Smith, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Southwest and Lincoln Northeast faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. The Silver Hawks put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 35-13 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Silver Hawks.
Bellevue West better keep an eye on Luke Mitchell. He was instrumental in Lincoln Southwest's win, rushing for 159 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Mitchell's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Emmitt Sanchez also helped out as he racked up 120 rushing yards.
Lincoln Southwest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 400 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 63.7 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 233.
The victory got Bellevue West back to even at 3-3. As for Lincoln Southwest, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.
Bellevue West strolled past Lincoln Southwest when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
