Central had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past Eureka 32-29.
Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyshawn Boyd led the charge by rushing for 208 yards and two touchdowns. Boyd has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Zai'aire Thomas and his 153 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Central's victory.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Ritter College Prep put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Fort Zumwalt North on the road to the tune of 68-14. Cardinal Ritter College Prep might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matchups by 32 points or more this season.
Central pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-9 DeSoto and 2-9 Sikeston (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 34.3% over those games). As for Cardinal Ritter College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
