It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Switzerland County had no problem doing just that  on Monday. They were the clear victors by  a  19-1 margin over the Austin Eagles. Considering the Pacers have won eight contests by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Zayne Smith was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Cooper Todd was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  him a new career-high.  Roman Hite was another key player,  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  runs and three  RBI.
 Switzerland County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .562. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
The  victory made it two in a row for Switzerland County and  bumps their season record up to 14-12. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1  runs in those games. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-16.
 Coming up, Switzerland County will challenge Providence at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Pacers will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three matchups. Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
