On Friday Mitchell take on Franklin at 7:30 PM. Mitchell are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
Mitchell ran circles around McDowell last week, and the extra yardage (481 yards vs. 221 yards) paid off. Mitchell were the clear victor by a 42-14 margin over McDowell. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Mitchell had established a 29-7 advantage.
Meanwhile, Franklin had a bit more than a touchdown to spare in a 21-14 win over Swain County. The success made it back-to-back wins for Franklin.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-1. In their victory, Mitchell relied heavily on junior Noah Pitman, who rushed for 116 yards and 3 touchdowns; a key strategy for Franklin will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
