Baseball Recap: Hulbert Wins Going Away Against Webbers Falls

Hulbert's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Webbers Falls Warriors with a sharp 17-3 win. Considering the Riders have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ethan Thompson and Logan Beeler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Thompson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Beeler pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Thompson scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-4, while Beeler scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Thompson has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jarrett Crawdord, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Crawdord is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Hubbard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Hulbert's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Webbers Falls, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hulbert will host Porter at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Webbers Falls, they will face off against Talihina at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
