The Pottsgrove Falcons lost against the Bishop Shanahan Eagles back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pottsgrove was just a hair shy of victory and fell 29-28 to Bishop Shanahan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pottsgrove in their matchups with Bishop Shanahan: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Pottsgrove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gabe Rinda. Despite the final result, he threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
Pottsgrove's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-0 Pope John Paul II and 8-3 Owen J. Roberts (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games). As for Bishop Shanahan, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Pottsgrove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bishop Shanahan will face off against Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pope John Paul II is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
