On Saturday, Arrupe Jesuit made easy work of Arvada and carried off a 3-0 win. The Generals haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Arrupe Jesuit's got stronger as the match went on, holding Arvada to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-12.
If Lake County wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Middle Park, they should've done a better job of containing Laura Bell. Middle Park blew past Lake County 3-0 on Saturday for which the team can thank Bell, who had five digs and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last ten times she's played.
While Middle Park won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-8, 25-22.
Middle Park's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Arrupe Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Arrupe Jesuit has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 11.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Middle Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
