Downtown Doral is 0-3 against the Biggie since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Downtown Doral Dolphins will face off against the Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie at TBD. Downtown Doral is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Downtown Doral won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were dealt a 65-29 defeat at the hands of Westwood Christian. While losing is never fun, Downtown Doral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while the Warriors are ranked 210th).
The losing side was boosted by Paolo Guerrero, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Leiva, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Hialeah Educational Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Black Hawk 2-0. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Hialeah Educational Academy has scored all season.
Downtown Doral's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
Downtown Doral was taken down by the Biggie 72-26 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Downtown Doral avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
