While it was all tied up  20-20 at halftime, the Southington Blue Knights were not quite the Berlin Redcoats's equal in the second half  on Monday. Southington took a  47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berlin. Southington has struggled against Berlin recently, as their  matchup on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 When it comes to explaining why Southington lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Lily Cooper. Despite the final result, she  scored 18 points along with nine  rebounds and two  steals. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Katie Doherty, who  scored nine points.
 Southington now  has a losing record at 6-7. As for Berlin, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
 Southington will head out on the road to  take on  South Windsor at 6:45  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Berlin, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against North Branford at 6:45  p.m.
