Baseball Recap: San Manuel Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

San Manuel came out on top against Superior on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run third inning. The Miners were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Miners have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tanner Decker was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for San Manuel: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcos Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win was the fourth in a row for San Manuel, bringing their record up to 13-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Superior, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Manuel will host Ray at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Miners surely won't give up without a fight. As for Superior, they will welcome Mogollon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season.
