It was a good run, but the Desert Christian Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 68-56 to Phoenix Country Day. Desert Christian has not had much luck with Phoenix Country Day recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Desert Christian saw an underclassman step up: Tyson Dobbins scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Dobbins scored a full 28.6% of Desert Christian's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Brown, who scored 15 points.
Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Phoenix Country Day, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Desert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fountain Hills at 6:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Hopefully Fountain Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine two weeks ago. As for Phoenix Country Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Tempe Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tempe Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Phoenix Country Day is ranked 89th).
