Gainesville is 4-0 against Osbourn since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Hopefully Gainesville is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osbourn in Virginia (Gainesville is ranked first, while Osbourn is ranked 275th).
Gainesville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Battlefield, posting a 62-29 victory on the road. That 62-29 margin sets a new team best for Gainesville this season.
Gainesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grace Ellingson led the charge by scoring 20 points along with four steals. Ellingson set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Madison McKenzie was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Osbourn, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 49-33 loss to Patriot on Tuesday.
Gainesville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Osbourn, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
