The Boulder Panthers pushed their score all the way to 70 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-70 to Denver East. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (63), Boulder still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Boulder still got an impressive performance from Kyle Blauch, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 11 rebounds. Blauch scored a full 54.3% of Boulder's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Riley Stein, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Denver East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ehud Tesfoye led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 7 assists and 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Hanlon, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Boulder's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Denver East, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Boulder will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Denver East, they will challenge Fairview at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Denver East likes a good challenge.
