The Tulelake Honkers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hayfork Timberjacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tulelake walked away with it. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 74-32 victory over Big Valley. The result was nothing new for Tulelake, who have now won eight matches by 22 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Hayfork put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 26-20 W over Chester.
It was another big night for Levi Cavalli, who rushed for 250 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Cavalli really tore up the turf during one magnificent 94-yard run. Hayfork also got a significant boost from Devin Nanez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 97 yards.
The win makes it two in a row for Tulelake and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for Hayfork, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Everything came up roses for Tulelake against Hayfork when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 40-0 victory. Will Tulelake repeat their success, or does Hayfork have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
