Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Vista Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doherty only posted a batting average of .364.
The win snapped Vista Ridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record. As for Doherty, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Vista Ridge has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Rampart at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rampart is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Vista Ridge will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Doherty, they will head out to face off against Smoky Hill at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Doherty has given up an average of 13.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
