Alex Martin was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one triple.
Martin wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Will Dunbar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
