Selinsgrove is 8-2 against Shikellamy since September of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Selinsgrove Seals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shikellamy Braves at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Selinsgrove's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matchups.
Selinsgrove stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Midd-West on the road to the tune of 49-0. Selinsgrove's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Selinsgrove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tucker Teats, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Teats was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Pastore, who threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns on only five passes.
Meanwhile, Shikellamy was beaten by Southern Columbia Area 55-6 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Shikellamy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Southern Columbia Area is ranked 51st).
Selinsgrove's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points per game. As for Shikellamy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Everything came up roses for Selinsgrove against Shikellamy when the teams last played back in September as the squad secured a 54-14 win. Will Selinsgrove repeat their success, or does Shikellamy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
