The Spring Grove Rockets lost against the Dallastown Wildcats back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Spring Grove took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dallastown. While losing is never fun, Spring Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Dallastown is ranked 144th).
Dallastown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Scott out in front who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Kody Kisner was another key contributor, throwing for 95 yards and three touchdowns.
Dallastown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Colby Laughman and his three sacks.
This is the second loss in a row for Spring Grove and nudges their season record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 William Penn (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.7% over those games). As for Dallastown, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Grove will take on South Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Western will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Dallastown, they will be playing at home against Red Lion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Lion is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
