The Sacred Heart Valkyries stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Dixie Heights 74-40 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Sacred Heart who now have six in a row.
Leading Sacred Heart to victory were Reagan Bender and ZaKiyah Johnson. Bender scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Pelayo, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Sacred Heart's win was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Dixie Heights, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9.
Sacred Heart will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Dixie Heights, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Mount Notre Dame focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday.
