The DSST: Cedar Falcons waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Lincoln. That's another feather in the cap for DSST: Cedar, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
DSST: Cedar's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaya Paul, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Paul is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Aminata Ndiaye was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Asyah Sturgeon and Amina Abdikadir certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Sturgeon scored 15 points, while Abdikadir scored 17 points. Sturgeon is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight.
DSST: Cedar is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Lincoln, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.
DSST: Cedar will head out on the road to take on Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully DSST: Cedar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. As for Lincoln, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Denver North at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Denver North is coming into the contest with eight straight wins on the road, so Lincoln is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
