Woodsboro is 0-3 against Falls City since November of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will square off against the Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Woodsboro put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They walked away with a 50-38 win over Ben Bolt. Considering the Eagles' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Amarian Zambezi produced another solid effort rushing for 191 yards while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 41 receiving yards. Gabriel Davila helped out on the ground, rushing for 132 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Woodsboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 365 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, Falls City waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Eagles, posting a 58-0 victory. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Eagles are ranked 1061st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Woodsboro better keep an eye on Braylon Johnson. He was instrumental in Falls City's win, rushing for 85 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 24 yards and one touchdown. Johnson has become a key player for the Beavers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was Kennyn Cruz, who gained 49 total yards and two touchdowns.
Falls City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Liska and Brandon Banda. Banda got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Falls City's record is now 6-4. As for Woodsboro, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Woodsboro has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 199.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Falls City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 272.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Woodsboro took a serious blow against Falls City in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 48-0. Thankfully for the Eagles, Grant Jendrusch (who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
