Even though the Benjamin Franklin Chargers scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, the Florence Gophers still came out on top. Florence came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chargers and snuck past 65-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Florence.
Florence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Taufaasau, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taufaasau has scored all season. Anthony Bradeen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Benjamin Franklin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Mott, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Wright, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Florence has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Benjamin Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.
Florence won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
