For the first time this season, Citrus Hill will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Thursday. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Valley Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. Citrus Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

While Citrus Hill's win against Indian Springs wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Citrus Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Indian Springs on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-6. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the COYOTES: they've now won three in a row.

Tatum Pino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julissa Sandoval, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Valery Carreon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, West Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 15-13 heartbreaker at the hands of Big Bear. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 4-0 in the first period.

Citrus Hill pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for West Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
