The Riverbend Bears were the 75-66 winner over the Fredericksburg Christian Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Riverbend took a 60-43 bruising from Fredericksburg Christian on Friday. Riverbend's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Noah Caesar was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds for Fredericksburg Christian. The game was Caesar's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Drake Morris was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Riverbend's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Fredericksburg Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Riverbend will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Colonial Forge at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Fredericksburg Christian and St. Michael the Archangel will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Michael the Archangel knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Fredericksburg Christian likes a good challenge.
