The Watervliet Cannoneers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Hudson with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 44-30. That's another feather in the cap for Watervliet, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Moriah Walker and Malia Jackson certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Walker scored seven points along with 16 rebounds, while Jackson scored nine points along with 17 rebounds. Jackson scored a full 30% of Hudson's points, the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Watervliet back to even at 3-3. As for Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Watervliet will take on Greenville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenville will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Hudson, they will head out on the road to face off against Maple Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Maple Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hudson in New York (Maple Hill is ranked 100th, while Hudson is ranked 282nd).
