The Mallard Creek Mavericks's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 77-61 victory over Harding University. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mallard Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Langston Boyd out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last seven games he's played. Jordyn Washington was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Mallard Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Harding University, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Mallard Creek will head out on the road to take on Hough at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mallard Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Hough likes a good challenge. As for Harding University, they will be playing at home against Berry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Berry is ranked 338th, while Harding University is ranked 344th).
