The Plum Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to Armstrong. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (55), Plum still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Jacob Szep, who scored 26 points for Armstrong. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Szep has scored all season. Jack Valasek was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Plum's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Armstrong, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-6.
Plum will be playing at home against Shaler Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shaler Area presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Plum in Pennsylvania (Shaler Area is ranked eighth, while Plum is ranked 392nd). As for Armstrong, they will head out on the road to challenge Woodland Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
