The Castle Rock Rockets struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (the Rochester Warriors were 24% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Castle Rock took a serious blow against the Warriors, falling 58-18. Castle Rock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
Despite the loss, Castle Rock still got an impressive performance from Kelsey Poyner, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Rochester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mandy Andree-Cordell, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andree-Cordell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Hoover, who scored 16 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Castle Rock and nudges their season record down to 6-12. As for Rochester, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castle Rock will face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Washington (Stevenson is ranked 222nd, while the Rockets are ranked 240th). As for Rochester, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Black Hills will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
