Palmer hasn't had much luck against Ware recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m.
On Monday, Palmer came up short against Pathfinder RVT and fell 5-1. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly four runs.
Brendan Hess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Sebastian Mayberry made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That run was his first of the season.
Meanwhile, Ware strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Turners Falls. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Logan Millet made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Millet was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Owen McKeever was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kyle Kaczuwka was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Ware always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turners Falls only posted an OBP of .118.
Ware pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 8.5 runs thus far. As for Palmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
Palmer suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Ware in their previous meeting on April 10th. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
