Baseball Recap: John Milledge Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mount De Sales Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask John Milledge Academy). They put the hurt on the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers with a sharp 17-1 win on Wednesday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Graysen Paradise made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Paradise was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Paradise wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Whidby, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. What's more, Whidby posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March.

John Milledge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

John Milledge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

John Milledge Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cavaliers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
