Madison has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. After both having extra time off, the Madison Patriots and the Hiwassee Dam Eagles will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Mitchell scored an imposing 64 points last Friday, Madison still came out on top. Madison managed a 69-64 win over Mitchell. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Madison has managed all season.
Madison found their leader in underclassman Gavin Gault, who scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Eighmey, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Hiwassee Dam scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They snuck past Highlands with a 68-64 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Madison's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Hiwassee Dam, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
