It was a good run, but Boswell unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Wakeland Wolverines. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2017.
Anabel Longspaugh paced Boswell's offense, picking up three kills. Longspaugh got some help from Brooklynn Williams and her six assists.
Wakeland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubree Fernandez, who had ten digs and one assist. Stella Sanford also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Boswell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Wakeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boswell will challenge Birdville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wakeland, they will take on Hebron at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
