Lyons has gone 9-1 against Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lions will host the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lyons has five straight wins, Valley has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Lyons had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Sterling on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Lions have won 11 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gretta Wynja made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September.

Lyons' victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
Valley's pitching crew better be locked in on Thursday. Lyons hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. It's a different story for Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Lyons in the park?
Everything went Lyons' way against Valley in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Lyons made off with a 13-0 win. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
