Briggs entered their tilt with South on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Bulldogs 20-13. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Wyatt Martin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one stolen base.
In other batting news, JD Adkins was incredible, scoring five runs while going 3-for-4. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Briggs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South only managed seven hits.
Briggs pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
