The Denver North Vikings will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Poudre Impalas  at 3:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Denver North will be strutting in after a  victory while Poudre will be coming in after a  loss.
Denver North is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Dakota Ridge. Everything went Denver North's way against Dakota Ridge on Saturday as Denver North made off with  a  10-4 win.
Denver North got a great performance from  Joaquin Martinez as he  pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit.
 At the plate,  Ruben Avalos and  Gael Olivas did most of the damage at the plate:  Avalos  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3, while  Olivas  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  John Miller was another key player,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Riverdale Ridge.
 Brayden Bay put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   six  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Bay wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Benny Quast, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  Quast has posted since back in March of 2024.
