Crescenta Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Pasadena since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. Crescenta Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Crescenta Valley was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Glendale on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Nitros a 13-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Falcons considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Mila Reddy was incredible, firing off three triples, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Hernandez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Crescenta Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pasadena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to Burbank. That's two games in a row now that Pasadena has lost by exactly 16 runs.
Pasadena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Milania Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Crescenta Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pasadena, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Pasadena's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crescenta Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Pasadena, though, as they've been averaging 10.6 hits. Given Crescenta Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Bulldogs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Crescenta Valley took their victory against Pasadena in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
