There's no place like home for the Northside Christian Academy Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 66-34 victory over Metrolina Christian Academy at home. Given Northside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Metrolina Christian Academy is ranked 242nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northside Christian Academy was led to victory by Kyrell Shaw and Jaleel Smith. Shaw scored 16 points, while Smith scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dorian Reeves, who scored ten points.
Northside Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-9 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.22 points. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy will face off against Concord Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Concord Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Gaston Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
